Yggdrasil, the tree of light and life

Tree of golden light with leaves of multicolored light

Once mastered and domesticated, the fire allows the maturity of the being. With its maturity, the individuated consciousness establishes itself in the whole of the individual and produces (possible) fruits. In this sense the tree of light is an archetype present in the center of the head of individuals and extends throughout all that they are. In addition, it relays information throughout the body much like the nervous system in the physical body. His presence shows that the individual is conscious and autonomous of his thought. It also means the individual as a whole. Carl Jung represented individuation with the image of a tree for this reason.

Christmas Tree

The Christmas tree is a faithful representation of the tree of light.

The balls representing the fruits and therefore the possibilities of the tree. In the macrocosm, the fruits and possible of the universe, in the microcosm, the fruits and possible of an individual. Between the two, the fruits and possible of a family, a society or a race.

It is possible to go and see these possibilities of choosing, picking and planting them. In this sense the tree of light is also called the tree of possibilities. Made possible by the previous 4 principles of light (source, Lucifer, the norns et kenaz).

In fairy tales, it is the happy ending. Once the Yin and the Yang (or the anima and the animus) are united by the alchemical marriage, the individual lives happily and has many children (fruits, projects and possibilities). These alchemical nuptials are part of Kenaz's integration.

As part of the Christmas celebration, the festival of light, the star at the top represents the North Star and the higher Self. We can thus see the verticality through which the light descends and which constitutes the top of the majority of individuals.

The winter solstice is the occasion of an opening for the light to descend with all its gifts. Like Santa Claus. The moment is welcome to tie in with the tree of light of the universe and put possibilities into action. Hence the relevance of resolutions or rather of desires, aspirations and intentions. Also to see what's coming.

Yggdrasil and the nine worlds

Nine worlds is three by three worlds. In alchemy, we speak of the triple trinity body, soul spirit or black, white and red works. In the energy bodies, we could go like this:

  • Body of body (physical/etheric), heart of body (astral), consciousness of body (lower mind);
  • Heart Body (Soul), Heart Heart (Spirit), Heart Consciousness (Atma);
  • Body of consciousness (cosmic), heart of consciousness (supracosmic 1), consciousness of consciousness (supracosmic 2).

In any case the tree of light includes and connects the worlds as much in the macrocosm as in the microcosm. I would be curious to see if there is a correspondence between the different worlds proposed by the Celts and the reality of the first nine bodies of a human being.

    Norns – weavers of destiny

    Norns are the 3rd principle of the original Light after Lucifer and before Kenaz. It is thus a question of getting involved in our destiny and that of others once we carry the light that we are in the process of domesticating. The more an individual is proactive and takes his destiny into his own hands, the more the relationship…

    Kenaz, domesticated fire

After the spark, the transport, the audacity to get involved in one's own destiny comes, the mastery and the domestication of internal and external fire. One of the most powerful aspects of the Light, Kenaz is the engine and…
